Install and Uninstall iGrann

Some Blackberry users experience problems uninstalling and re-installing applications on their device. The following is a compilation of the steps that have been successfully used to address these issues. Please keep in mind that the installation and uninstallation of applications is handled by Blackberry World and not the applications.

Also, many users have reported having to go through these steps several times before getting results. So, do not be surprised if your app does not open after the first try. Also, see the end of this post for other ways users solved the problem.

Before you install or uninstall:

1) Make sure you are on a strong WIFI or mobile network. The install and uninstall process cannot be interrupted. If it is, the results are random and most of the time produce problems. Ex: app installs but does not open properly.

2) Make sure you have the latest OS version for your device (Settings > Software Updates > and tap on Check for Updates)

3) Update BlackBerry World: Go to BlackBerry World > My World > My Apps and Games > tap on Check for Updates > update BlackBerry World if an update is available

4) Refresh BlackBerry World: Go to BlackBerry World > Settings (swipe from top to down) > General > Refresh BlackBerry World. Then open BlackBerry World again

5) Before trying any option, RE-START your phone

To Uninstall Option 1:

1) Launch BlackBerry World

2) Tap on Search icon (bottom of the screen), search for iGrann and go to the iGrann Client for Instagram screen

3) Tap on the More icon at the bottom right of the screen to open the right menu bar

4) Select Uninstall at the bottom to see the Delete from My World pop-up window

5) Tap on Delete (users reported this working better). If that does not work, then tap on Uninstall.

6) Refresh BlackBerry World: Go to BlackBerry World > Settings (swipe from top to down) > General > Refresh BlackBerry World

To Uninstall Option 2:

1) Launch BlackBerry World

2) Go to My World

3) Tap on My Apps & Games and select the Installed tab on top

4) Scroll down to iGrann and  tap-and-hold to open the side menu

5) Tap on the waste basket and then tap on Delete  (users reported this working better). If that does not work, then tap on Uninstall.

6) Refresh BlackBerry World: Go to BlackBerry World > Settings (swipe from top to down) > General > Refresh BlackBerry World

To Uninstall Option 3:

1) Tap and hold the iGrann app icon

2) Tap on the delete basket

To Uninstall Option 4:

1) Go to device Settings > App Manager > Device Monitor > Memory > iGrann

2) Tap on Delete basket at the bottom of the page

To Install:

1) Re-start the device and perform the next step

2) Launch BlackBerry World

3) Tap on Search icon (bottom of the screen), search for iGrann and go to the iGrann Client for Instagram screen

4) Tap on Download to install iGrann


Also, a few users tried the following with success:

  • Hi: I logged into my bbw account, searched for Igrann, scanned the bar code and kept the phone plugged in while I downloaded the app. I opened the app with the phone still connected to the laptop and logged in. It was at the login that I had trouble before, so I was skeptical. But the program didn’t kick me out at that point. I logged in and voila, the rest is history! All my news was there and everything!
  • I solve it, I will leave the steps that I made to solve it, this can help you in future cases similar to mine:
    1. enter to https://appworld.blackberry.com
    2. register with the BBID
    3. search Igrann
    4. click on install, and it will install the app again in your phone, here it does not work
    5. go to app manager>Device monitor>storage>Igrann>delete (wait until is finished)
    6. reboot your phone
    7. open Blackberry world
    8. search for iGrann
    9. install it
    10. and it over, the problem is solved
  • I finally got it to work. I long pressed deleted the app, waited more than 24 hours then reinstalled it. That method worked for me.
